Home > Projects > Dewatering Hearing for Compressor Station 6/11/18

Dominion wants to “dewater” about an acre and a half of land above the pipeline to a depth of sixteen feet. That means removing a total of hundreds of thousands of gallons of water over the proposed period of construction. If this permit is granted, they will be required to get a second “discharge” permit to dump the water somewhere besides where it belongs.

Since this is an informational hearing, MDE will not be taking testimony, but come with questions! So many hearings are obnoxious for sure, but they all represent more chances to stop Charles Station compressor station.

The Permit Application number for Dominion Energy Cove Point LNG’s Water Appropriation and Use Permit is CH2017G006/01.
